Os cristãos da Síria organizaram um relógio de oração e jejum pelo país, que vive uma guerra civil e sectária entre as tropas do governo e os insurgentes. Grandes cidades sírias como a capital Damasco e Aleppo já foram palco de combates e milhares estão morrendo, enquanto a comunidade internacional está num impasse sobre quais ações tomar para tentar acabar com o conflito.
Sobre o relógio de oração, durante uma semana, todas as horas do dia, grupos de cristãos revezam-se em turnos de uma hora para se reunirem e orar pela Síria.
O Portas Abertas informou que os cristãos que assumiram o compromisso de orar, recebem mensagens de texto por celular como lembrete e por conta dos riscos de sair nas ruas, as reuniões acontecem nas casas e durante o dia nas igrejas, evitando locais abertos.

Christians in Syria held a watch of prayer and fasting for the country, which is experiencing a civil war and sectarian between government troops and insurgents. Large cities such as Syrian capital Damascus and Aleppo have been the scene of fighting and thousands are dying while the international community is at an impasse over what actions to take to try to end the conflict.
About prayer clock for a week, all hours of the day, Christian groups take turns in shifts an hour to come together and pray for Syria.
The Open Doors reported that Christians who have committed to pray, receive text messages via cell phone as a reminder and for the account of the risks of leaving the streets, meetings take place in homes and in churches during the day, avoiding the open.
