You are full of the Holy Spirit? (Ephesians 5:18)

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is, but be filled with the Spirit;
Ephesians 5:18

You are full of the Holy Spirit? A serious question that must be asked by all the servants of God, we must seek every day more the presence of God and not let the cold take care of our spiritual lives.

The Holy Spirit's presence is very strong throughout the Word of God, we see the Holy Spirit working from the beginning:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Genesis 1:1-2

We learned that from the beginning the Holy Spirit is moving, acting since the creation, after anointing and empowering many servants of God, using them with great power in his work.

We arrived in the New Testament and see the same Holy Spirit preparing the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 1:18
And she shall bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

All this took place to fulfill what was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying;

Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and will call him by the name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew 1:21-23

We see the Holy Spirit working strongly in the life Jesus throughout his ministry:

And Jesus being baptized, went up straightway out of the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on ele.E lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Matthew 3:16-17

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Matthew 4:1

And we can also see in the very words of Jesus, a promise that is fulfilled up to now:

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;

The Spirit of truth, whom the world can not receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him: but ye know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

Will not leave you orphans come to you.
John 14:16-18

Only with this few verses we can glorify God, because we know that the Holy Spirit is acting in our favor.

Learned by the Biblical teachings that we must be filled with the Holy Spirit, and we learn that Jesus and the Holy Spirit worked together, and comforter want to be intimate with us, for His presence has to be real in our lives.

We also learn in Ephesians 5:18, that the Word gives us a direction, an ordinance to be filled with the Holy Spirit, as we will only have a full life with God through the anointing of God.

We know that every child of God has the Holy Spirit, because only through the comforter is that we are able to worship God in spirit and in truth. But
Bible teaches us:

For John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:5

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit to come upon you: and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8

The Baptism with the Holy Spirit should be sought by all who follow Jesus, as it was with the disciples in Acts chapter 2, where it says:

And, fulfilling the day of Pentecost, they were all together in the same place;

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:1-4

We must seek this blessing, this promise to be coated the Power of God, this power that takes us beyond that catches the fearful, and transforms into a mighty man, who takes the little and makes defeating giants, we see the transformation in the lives of the disciples after the Pentecost, men and women who carried the message of the Gospel to the ends of the earth, the same people who were once locked in a house with fear, now through the power of God were speaking of Jesus, and declaring that Jesus is the Savior.

But it has a detail that often goes by unnoticed, even after the baptism with the Holy Spirit can not let this flame goes out as the Word says:

Quench not the Spirit
1 Thessalonians 5:19

A little verse, but with a very great truth, we can not let the flame of the Holy Spirit within us is clear, and remembering that the Holy Spirit is far more than a source of power, He is a person, He is God and dwells Inside of us.
To fully understand what the Apostle Paul had in mind who asked the church "does not get drunk with wine, but be filled with the Spirit", we need to read this message very carefully and dedication, beginning in Ephesians chapter 4:17 and ending at Ephesians chapter 5:21, only then can we comprehensively understand the purpose of this text.

Let us study a bit the first part of the verse Ephesians 5:18 says "Be not drunk with wine, wherein is"

Getting drunk with wine for us today means defile himself with the things of the world to be filled with the Holy Spirit we must separate from the world.

Now let's meditate a bit from Ephesians 4:17-19 which says:

And this I say and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.

Darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;

Who, being past feeling have given themselves over to lasciviousness, to eagerly commit all uncleanness.
Ephesians 4:17-19

First Paul warns the church to live in holiness, Paul was warning the church that the world was trying to infiltrate among them, and that only holiness could keep the church away from the world, today is no different, the world tries all ways to seduce the people of God, but only if we are filled with the Spirit, and this flame is lit can we beat him.

And summarizing this text, we see many evils that try to infiltrate the church, let's see the list:

* Vanity senses, thoughts worthless (4:17)
* Minds in the dark (4:18)
* Addictions (4:19)
* Lie (4:25)
* Ira prolonged (4:26)
* Give place to the devil (4:27)
* Theft (4:28)
* Clumsy words, expletive (4:29)
* Grieving the Holy Spirit (4:30)
* Bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, blasphemy, malice (4:31)
* Prostitution, impurity, greed (excessive attachment to wealth) (5:3)
* Words indecent, filthy and foolish things (5:4)
* Fornicator, unclean, greedy (5:5)

See dear readers that the list is large, and very serious, when Jesus comes for his church, he turns to seek a Holy, who lives separated from the world.

The servants of God have to watch.

What aconterá when Jesus returns and find his servants with addictions such as drinking, prostitution, drugs etc. ....

What will happen when Jesus returns and find his servants the lie, living in error.

What will happen when Jesus returns and find his servants in the robbery, making a living with the wrong things, talking dirty word, living in prostitution.

What will happen when Jesus returns to find young people having sex before marriage, etc., etc., etc..

 The Word of God is very serious about sin, and we must understand that what was sin 2000 years ago is still sin today.

On the other hand this same text in contrast to sin, teaches us about transformation in the lives of believers:

* If you put on the new man (4:24)
* Speak the truth (4:25)
* Work honestly and help the needy (4:28)
* Good words to promote building (4:29)
* Believer should not grieve the Holy Spirit (4:30)
* Be gracious, merciful, forgiving (4:32)
* Impersonator of Christ (5:1)
* Walking in love (5:2)
* Shares of grace (5:4)
* Heirs of the Kingdom of God (5:5)
* We are light (5:8)
* We have the fruit of the Holy Spirit (5:9)
* Tread lightly on the floor (5:15)
* Enjoy your time well (5:16)
* To be filled with the Spirit (5:18)
* Praising God through psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (5:19)
* Always giving thanks to God (5:20)
* Subjecting each other (5:21)

We need to let the Holy Spirit work in our lives, because we see that he has always worked since the beginning of time (Genesis 1:2), we see that Jesus performed his ministry in the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4, Luke 5:17).

The 120 at Pentecost were filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:14).

Deacons were filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 6:8).

The Apostle Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 9:17).

The Lord's work must be performed by men and women filled with the Holy Spirit.

Be filled with the Holy Spirit is an order, there is no alternative.

If you are not filled with the Spirit, there will be joy fulfilled in your life, no glare.

We have to learn that every time we are in the presence of God, is to search it, to feed ourselves, to be filled with the Holy Spirit as the Word says:

And having prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and boldly preached the word of God.
Acts 4:31

Every time we worship the Lord, we must be like the church of Acts where it says that they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, we must enter into the presence of God, by a new and living way, purchased by the blood of Jesus, as the Word:

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,

By a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

And having an high priest over the house of God,

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water,

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope, for he is faithful that promised.
Hebrews 10:19-23

We believe in the Word of God, the Lord wants to fill us with the Holy Spirit, but we must do our part, which is sanctify us and seek increasing their presence that is alive, and we can not forget what it says Word:

And it shall be, then pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit.
Joel 2:28-29

Believe me dear, God wants to fill us with his presence, so that we may bear fruit for His Kingdom

The fire upon the altar shall be burning in it, do not delete
Leviticus 6:12

's Word is in the Old Testament, but remains alive for those who are filled with the Holy Spirit, the fire has to burn continually on the altar, this altar today we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, where the fire has to burn continually.

Do not let this fire go out of your life, do not let sin grieves the Holy Spirit, have fellowship with Him, the Holy Spirit is the kindest person in the world and wants to have lots of experience with you, believe.

Jesus loves you
